After trawling the internet to get an idea of what it was I needed I found this lamp.
But I was very disappointed with it I’m afriad to say.
I’m one of these people that although had the manual would rather try and figure it out for myself, but with these controls that was not at all possible. I little confusing to start with and definately had to consult the manual!!

But there is one much more major downfall with this product. I set the lamp to come on for a certain time the following morning and off to sleep I went……..Only to be woken up the next morning by a horrendous sounding alarm and no light!!! Thinking I had set the timer incorrectly I reset and tried again….
The next morning the same thing happened and I realised it was because once the lamp reaches it’s full illumination the alarm comes on…..but at the same time the light goes off!?!?! A little puzzling as surely the idea is to be woken up and the room still be light? So unless you are woken up by the light alone (which I wasn’t) it’s a little bit useless!!

Was very excited about the arrival of this item. However have found the description to be misleading. I was expecting to be worken up by bright sunny day light ‘simulating natural light’. In reality the item failed to wake me up at all, and the light it gives off even on full power was the colour and brightness of a solar powered garden light, cold, dim and blue. In a darkened room, it gave barely enough light to just make out objects. Infact a bedside lamp with a standard 40W bulb gave out far more light than the SAD clock. You would have to be starring directly at it from very close to sense the illusion of bright light, which is what you have to do when you set it which is fairly uncomfortable on the eyes.

Quite a good little alarm clock and certainly waking-up gradually to light is much better than by a noise.

I’ve docked a star for their product name as it’s worth noting this isn’t really a “SAD daylight light” as white LEDs aren’t full-spectrum light. Also you can’t stop it from still making an alarm noise at the end of the daylight build-up cycle where I’d prefer a more chilled wake-up based on light alone. However this isn’t too great a problem as you can usually switch it off in the early stages of the light build-up before the alarm noise goes off.
